Position: Desktop Support Engineer Overview: We are seeking a highly skilled and motivated Desktop Support Engineer to join our IT team. The ideal candidate will have a strong technical background and excellent customer service skills to provide efficient and effective support to our end-users. The Desktop Support Engineer will be responsible for troubleshooting and resolving hardware, software, and network issues, as well as assisting with the maintenance and configuration of desktops, laptops, and other devices.
Key Responsibilities: - Provide technical support to end-users via phone, email, and in-person, ensuring timely and accurate resolution of issues - Troubleshoot and resolve hardware and software issues on desktops, laptops, printers, and other peripherals - Install, configure, and maintain operating systems, software applications, and drivers - Perform regular maintenance and updates on desktops, laptops, and other devices to ensure optimal performance and security - Collaborate with other IT team members to resolve complex technical issues and escalate to appropriate teams when necessary - Assist with the setup and configuration of new hardware and software for employees - Maintain inventory of all hardware and software assets, including tracking and managing equipment loans and returns - Create and maintain technical documentation and knowledge base articles for common issues and solutions - Provide training and support to end-users on basic technical tasks and procedures - Participate in on-call rotation for after-hours support as needed Qualifications: - Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or related field preferred - 2+ years of experience in a desktop support or technical support role - Strong knowledge of Windows and Mac operating systems - Experience with troubleshooting and resolving hardware, software, and network issues - Familiarity with Active Directory, Group Policy, and other network management tools - Excellent customer service and communication skills, with the ability to explain technical concepts to non-technical users - Ability to work independently and in a team environment - Detail-oriented with strong organizational and time management skills - Certifications such as A+, Network+, or Microsoft Certified Professional (MCP) a plus We offer a competitive salary and benefits package, as well as opportunities for professional growth and development.
