On its official website, @ibps.in, the Institute of Banking Personnel Selection announces employment openings for graduates each year.Major Indian banks participate in the recruiting campaign and publish vacancies for the position of Probationary Officer. Three steps will be used to choose candidates: the preliminary exam, the main exam, and the interview. September 23, 30, October 1, and November 5, 2023, respectively, are scheduled as the dates for the IBPS PO prelims and mains exams.   • IBPS PO Prelims Exam Pattern 2023 :-


Prelims is the initial stage of the IBPS PO 2023 test and serves as a screening round.

The IBPS PO Prelims stage comprises of three components and lasts one hour.

  1. The Prelims exam will contain 100 Multiple Choice Questions.

  2. 0.25 marks will be subtracted for each incorrect answer.

  3. To qualify, candidates must achieve the minimum cut-off marks established by IBPS in all tests.

  • IBPS PO Mains Exam Pattern 2023 :-


Candidates who pass the preliminary exam will be entitled to take the mains exam, which is the second stage of the IBPS PO 2023 selection process.

  • The IBPS PO Mains Exam is divided into four portions, plus an English Language section that will be held independently on the same exam date.

  • The IBPS PO Mains Exam will consist of 200 multiple-choice questions (MCQs) and will last 3 hours.

  • Each wrong response will result in a 0.25 point reduction.

  • Each segment, like the IBPS PO Prelims Exam, will have a time limit.

  • To pass the IBPS PO Mains Exam, candidates must pass each test/section individually.


     Descriptive Test Introduction: 25 Marks :-


IBPS has added a descriptive test worth 25 marks in the IBPS PO Mains Exam. Candidates must submit an essay and a letter for this test, each worth 25 points. The English Language exam is intended to assess candidates' writing abilities, and passing this exam requires a minimum cut-off grade.

The syllabus is an important tool for applicants to use in preparation. Candidates should practice questions from the IBPS PO Previous Year Question Papers in addition to the IBPS PO Syllabus to gain an understanding of the exam pattern. In the IBPS PO Prelims test, questions will be asked from three sections:

  • Interview for IBPS PO 2023 :-

There is no predetermined subject for the IBPS PO Interview. To prepare for the Probationary Officer Interview, it is advised to focus on general knowledge, current affairs, and important finance-related topics.

A minimum score of 40% (35% for SC/ST/OBC/PWD) is necessary in the interview, which has a weightage of 100 points. The marks earned on the interview and main exam, which are weighted 20:80 accordingly, contribute to the final score.
